Music City!

I am excited to say that it has now been over a week since I arrived in Nashville! I am getting settled in nicely. Most importantly, my home studio is all set up, so I can keep working on getting some new music ready for you guys. I am so grateful to my family for all their help with the move. My dad and brother drove a U-Haul down from New Haven, so basically it's thanks to them that I get to sleep in my own bed every night! My mom, on the other hand, earned some more points toward sainthood by spending 17 hours in the car with me as we road tripped from Colorado to Tennessee.

Unsurprisingly, we arrived to find that most venues and bars are closed due to COVID-19. However, we were able to do a little bit of sightseeing, including doing an impromptu photo-op outside the famous Bluebird Cafe. I am excited to be getting a feel for a new city! I'm not going to lie, running here is terrible. It kind of feels like trying to run underwater. But also having to dodge bugs that have an inexplicable desire to fly right into your face. However, all of the people I have met so far have been incredibly friendly and kind. And the music at mass yesterday was absolutely phenomenal. So far, then, I'll say the positives outweigh the minor setbacks of humidity and bugs.

Belcourt Taps is opening up for an open mic night tonight, so I think I'm going to go check that out and see what open mics look like in this, the year of the plague. I'll come back with stories! Thanks, as always, for all your continuing prayers and support. I really appreciate your willingness to join me on this journey. God Bless!
